Top Cat Boarding Cattery is located on beautiful farmland just 2 miles from the coastal village of Beeston Regis, near Sheringham and Cromer, North Norfolk. Hidden away down a private road and overlooking green meadows and the sea, it is the perfect quiet location for cats to have a stress-free quality time away from home.

Whether your cat likes overlooking the world from a tucked away corner or enjoys the company of fellow friends, our 19 chalets of various sizes and orientation allow us to accommodate the needs of everyone. Top Cat Boarding Cattery is built to FAB (Feline Advisory Bureau) standards, which guarantees the safety and well-being of all boarded cats.

As a small family run business, we are very proud to provide a personable service and loving care to your cats. We understand that leaving a beloved pet – even for a few days - can be hard and we encourage customers to discuss specific and ask all the questions they want.

About Us

Top Cat Boarding Cattery has a long track record of loving and quality care. Founded over 10 years ago, many cats have enjoyed Top Cat's tranquil surroundings and cosy chalets. When the business came up for sale in June 2010, the opportunity was too good to be true for the Homer family who were looking to move closer to the seaside and run their own business in a rewarding environment. Having four cats themselves, their love of animals couldn't be more fulfilled than at Top Cat cattery!

Dr Hanne Homer now runs the cattery with the help of her husband Andy and their daughter Danielle. When she isn’t busy cleaning the chalets, feeding the cats or welcoming new comers, she spends one-on-one quality time with all the cats to make sure they are settling well. If they are in a playful disposition, she will throw a ball or two so they get stimulation and exercise, and cats happy to be groomed will get a regular brush.

Since taking over the cattery, Hanne has received both hands-on and theoretical training at Sheringham veterinary surgery Miramar. She can give injections for diabetes as well as medication for thyroid or other metabolic disorders. She also has an extensive knowledge of specialist dietary requirements for cats.

The Cattery and Accomodation we offer

Luxury cattery
Our 19 chalets are set in our peaceful garden, protected by a hedge and overlooked by our house. Chalets can accommodate 1 to 4 cats depending on their size, and all of them comprise of a private sleeping cabin, an individual exercise run and several shelves and ramps so your cat can decide whether to laze in the sunshine or stay cosily indoors. Beds, blankets, scratching poles and toys are provided but you are welcome to bring your cat’s favourite bedding and toys to help them settle. Each chalet opens to a common run leading to the kitchen so cats can enjoy further space. To provide a homely atmosphere, radio calming music and the water fountain in the grounds outside is on at intervals to provide a tranquil atmosphere.

Safe and secure environment for your cat
The chalets are built to FAB standards (Feline Advisory Bureau), meaning that Top Cat Boarding Cattery provides a safe and secure environment as well as quality care for your cats. The chalets are heated or ventilated depending on the weather conditions, and a triple locking system ensures that each door is closed before another is opened so cats cannot escape.

Litter trays are cleaned daily and chalets are thoroughly disinfected between stays. A strict vaccination policy is also applied so risks of infections are minimal. The cattery is inspected regularly by NNDC.

Services we provide to make your cat comfortable

Food
Cats are fed twice daily, and more frequently if required. A selection of quality fresh, tinned and dry food is available so cats get a varied and healthy diet.

Kittens and older cats are fed according to their own requirements, and we are happy to accommodate special diets when prescription food is provided by owners.

Grooming and TLC
Most cats enjoy a fuss, and we want all residents to feel loved and looked after.

We regularly brush cats and pay extra attention to long-haired cats so they don’t develop knots and fur balls. All cats get plenty of strokes and cuddles too.

We also make sure that they get stimulation and exercise, and spend time playing with each of them if they want to.

Health & Medication
For the safety of all cats boarded, certificates of vaccination for feline parvovirus, feline calicivirus and herpesvirus need to be provided for each guest. Males over 8 months also have to be neutered. Please note that admission will be declined to cats suspected of suffering from infectious diseases.

Provided there isn’t a contagious condition, we will do our best to accommodate the needs of cats under temporary treatment or ongoing medication. Special care and medication should be discussed when booking, and we will be able to ensure that it is being provided in most cases. Dr Hanne Homer has received training at a local veterinary clinic and can safely administer medications or give injections. Prescriptions and instructions will be required to prevent any misuse.

If cats show signs of ill-health during their stay, we will always ensure a vet sees them. Owners are responsible for any fees incurred and payment will need to be settled when collecting their cats.

Our prices are inclusive of delicious food, heating, insurance and TLC!

1 cat £8.00 per day

Discounts are available for cats sharing the same pen.
Please note that cohabitation is only available for cats of the same household. For the welfare of your feline friends, we cannot accommodate more than four cats in the same pen.

2 cats £13.00 per day
3 cats £18.00 per day
4 cats On Request *

We offer discounts for stays over 21 days.

We are able also to pick up and drop off cats from owners home by special arrangement.

* We normally don’t recommend shared accommodation for 4 cats in the same pen but are able to provide it if required. Rates will be discussed based on the length of stay.

Terms & Conditions

In order to safeguard the health and well-being of all boarded cats, we reserve the right to refuse admission to your cat if:

• current vaccination certificates for feline parvovirus, feline calicivirus and herpesvirus are not provided
• your cat shows sign of ill-health
• your cat is an un-castrated male over 8 months old

Because we need to ensure that the pens are thoroughly cleaned and disinfected before cats arrive and that everything is ready for their stay to be as pleasurable as possible, a full day's board will be charged for the day of arrival.

Any veterinary bills incurred during a cat’s stay are the responsibility of the owner and will need to be settled on collection.

Payment will be taken on collection either by cash or cheque.

Please note that we do not have cancellation policies. We would however appreciate as much notice as possible so other customers can enjoy vacant premises.
